Dry hire

Southern Explosives Supplies provides selected drill and blast equipment for dry hire across mining, quarrying and civil construction. The offer is designed for clients that need reliable production capacity without adding permanent fleet, from short campaigns, shutdowns and project ramp-ups to longer-term operating requirements.

The current dry-hire focus includes new-to-low-hour Epiroc SmartROC T45 rigs in long-mast and short-mast configurations, supplied with GPS-enabled Hole Navigation System capability, fire suppression and site-ready documentation configured to the nominated project requirements.

Depending on project requirements and availability, the hire package can also include fit-for-purpose shotfirer vehicles, driller and service vehicles, explosives magazines, explosives transport and support vehicles, and other ancillary drill-and-blast equipment. Every item is scoped for its intended use and supplied subject to applicable licensing, approvals, transport, storage, siting and site-compliance requirements.

SES's transport division can mobilise drill rigs, machinery, ancillary equipment and containers to and from site using prime movers with low-loader trailers and tilt-tray trucks. Transport can be coordinated with dry hire, maintenance or wider project mobilisation, reducing handovers and keeping delivery responsibility clear. SES also coordinates pre-dispatch inspections, condition reporting, documentation and handover. The hire agreement clearly defines servicing, inspections, consumables, damage, breakdown response and reporting responsibilities. In-house workshops, field-service technicians, spares planning and access to supplementary or replacement drill capacity can be discussed where production continuity is critical.
