Southern Explosives Supplies supports civil contractors and project owners with drilling and blasting for roadworks, dams, subdivisions, bulk excavation, rock cuttings and other infrastructure projects, including work near buildings, services, traffic corridors and other sensitive receivers.

Each project begins with the required excavation profile, ground conditions, construction sequence and site constraints. SES can develop a site-specific approach covering survey and face profiling, blast design, pre-split and trim drilling, production drilling, explosives selection, shotfiring, exclusion planning, vibration and air-overpressure monitoring, and compliance reporting. Designs are adjusted to manage charge distribution, timing, flyrock, ground vibration, airblast and the condition of the finished excavation.

For close-proximity work, we focus on understanding the surrounding assets and receivers before drilling begins. Monitoring locations can be established using GPS-referenced coordinates and positioned in relation to the blast and known sensitive areas. This supports reliable measurement, transparent reporting and informed refinement of following blasts. SES can deliver the full scope or integrate drilling, technical personnel and shotfiring support into the principal contractor's construction program.
